VOKASI NEWS – This article explores how PT Molca Teknologi Nusantara uses pitch decks to drive startup growth. It highlights design principles, content strategies, and lessons from an internship case study, showing how effective pitch decks support communication, marketing, and investor engagement.
Startups rely heavily on effective communication to attract both investors and clients. One of the most widely used tools in this process is the pitch deck, a visually oriented presentation that conveys a company’s vision, value, and growth strategy.
At PT Molca Teknologi Nusantara, a startup providing Learning Management System (LMS) solutions, pitch decks are positioned as strategic instruments to promote products, strengthen credibility, and secure client interest. A case study conducted during an internship at the company highlighted the essential components and strategies for developing impactful pitch decks that resonate with business stakeholders.
Pitch decks, as described by Spinuzzi et al. (2015), transform complex business ideas into clear visuals and narratives. For PT Molca, the pitch deck plays a central role in explaining the relevance of its LMS, addressing corporate training challenges, and showcasing product features such as gamification, third-party integrations (Coursera and LinkedIn Learning), and user role functions (admin, mentor, mentee).
Design and Content Strategies for Impact
To ensure visual clarity and professional appeal, PT Molca applied design principles from Baehr & Loomis (2015). These principles emphasize consistent layouts, typography, color schemes, and the use of meaningful imagery. The deck employed company-branded fonts (Poppins and Helvetica) and a cohesive color palette (navy, yellow, and white). Visual elements such as the Learning Pyramid and LMS dashboard mockups reinforced product benefits and enhanced audience engagement.
Equally significant were content strategies inspired by Spinuzzi et al. (2015), namely accepting, continuing, and resisting. “Accepting” reused effective material from previous documents, including explanations of LMS features. “Continuing” updated arguments by adding new insights, such as highlighting gamification and system integrations. “Resisting” meant modifying or replacing less-relevant suggestions, illustrated by the addition of new slides on user roles and product benefits to strengthen the narrative.
Lessons from the Internship Case Study
Despite challenges such as limited access to earlier materials and time constraints, the internship project at PT Molca produced practical outcomes. The experience revealed that effective pitch decks must balance storytelling with visual clarity while directly addressing business needs. Informal feedback from the company’s marketing team further refined the final product, ensuring alignment with client expectations.

The case study shows that a pitch deck is more than a slide collection, it is a persuasive communication tool that combines design and strategic messaging. For startups like PT Molca Teknologi Nusantara, investing in well-structured and visually engaging pitch decks can enhance business communication, strengthen marketing efforts, and improve investor engagement.
