VOKASI NEWS – Dies Natalis are the series of commemorations of higher education birthdays, so is Hospitality Management studies. There are also considered important events that mark the beginning of the educational journey of an educational institution.
For universities, the Dies Natalis has an important meaning, because it is not only a sign of increasing age, but also a mark of maturity in work. Not only that, this is also an opportunity to strengthen commitment to change for the progress of the university.
This year’s Dies Natalis was held at the Fave Mex Hotel Surabaya on 25 November 2023. With the theme of a Retro 90’s theme and a costume theme namely Vintage, the activity conducted happily. All the students came wearing vintage clothes, as did the lecturers who were very enthusiastic about wearing the specified outfits.
The event was organized lively to increase feelings of gratitude for the birthday celebration and increase enthusiasm for all Hospitality Management students. This annual activity also serves to strengthen ties between generations and alumni.
Hospitality Management Dies Natalis 2023
This event began with an opening with remarks by Hospitality Management lecturers starting from the Head of the Hotel Management Study Program, namely Prof. Dian Yulie Reindrawati, S.Sos., M.M., Ph.D, CHE. Then it was continued by the Supervisor of the Hospitality Management Student Association, namely Mr. Jiwangga Hadi Nata, S.E., M.SM.CHE. Then continued by Mrs. Umi Farichah Bascha and Mr. Bambang Suharto. After that, it continued with the cutting of the tumpeng which was carried out by Mr Bambang Suharto.
Then continued with the performances of each generation starting with the performance of the 2021 class, then continued with the 2023 performance and finally the 2022 performance. The various performances started with Trio, Solo Dance and Group Dance and the appearance of the Guest Star, namely Karisko Dwi Yon Santoso, a very successful hotel management student. excels in the field of singing and has won the Brimo Festival singing competition and he is also a member of the acoustic vocation. The next event closed with dinner and awards for the best costumes and each performance.
