Vocational Students of Universitas Airlangga Participate in the 13th International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS)

VOKASI NEWS – Students of Universitas Airlangga’s (UNAIR) recently made a significant impact by participating in the 13th International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS 13). Held in Surabaya, Indonesia, from July 28 to August 1, 2024, the event brought together academics, researchers, and students from around the world to discuss important issues and developments in Asian studies.

Student Research and Innovation Exhibition 13th ICAS

Twenty students from the Faculty of Vocational Studies and other faculties represented Universitas Airlangga and assigned to various locations, including:

  • Balai Pemuda,
  • Surabaya Arts Council Gallery,
  • ASSEC Tower,
  • De Javasche Bank, and
  • C2O Library & Collaborative,

The students have different roles, such as exhibition sitters, LOs, translators, registration, production, photographers, videographers, and liaison officers. The students were able to succeed while addressing Southeast Asia’s workforce challenges. Their involvement emphasized the relevance of practical skills-based education in meeting the needs of the regional labor market. The students who attended ICAS 13 showed the high level of academic and practical training they got during this worldwide exposure, which not only benefited their learning experience but also helped their personal and professional development.

Building International Relations in 13th ICAS

In addition to contributing with the operation of the exhibition of research from 66 Asean countries, the students connected with foreign peers and experts to broaden their perspectives on global education and exhibition trends. These connections are expected to encourage future cooperation and exchange programs, enhancing student experiences at Universitas Airlangga.
