Someone must have experienced staying up late during their lifetime, especially for young people or students who in fact very often carry out the activities of staying up late themselves. Then, what causes people to carry out activities staying up late? Here are some reasons that someone might do so as to cause staying up late:
Reasons Why Someone Might Stay Up Late
Someone tends to focus more on doing things at night, someone also delays their work until late at night resulting in staying up late to do the work. There is a cause for someone to stay up late is when they seem to enjoy entertainment such as watching movies or other entertainment which results in the person doing the staying up late activity itself. In addition, of course, there are several other reasons that require a person to stay up late, then they prefer to do everything possible so that they can stay up late, for example by drinking coffee. The fact that drinking coffee can make someone awake at night but the effect of drinking coffee itself does not necessarily make everyone awake but only some people can feel the effect.
After knowing the causes that require someone to stay up late, it would be better if we also know the impact of staying up late itself. Of course, the impact of staying up late is very dangerous for many people, especially on our bodies because no one knows whether a person’s body is strong enough to withstand the effects of staying up late or not.
The Impact of Staying Up Late
Difficult to concentrate, the emergence of serious diseases (stomach, heart attack, stroke, low blood pressure, etc.), lowering the body’s immune system, prone to depression, and many more fatal effects of the effects of staying up late. Besides that, staying up late can also causes death as well.
Recently, there are many cases where someone died due to staying up late on social media platforms. According to some news that has been reported before such as a case where there is a student whose daily activities are not far from staying up late and eating late then found dead. Isn’t bad news like that a threat and a warning so that we are always vigilant and careful in our activities? Of course. We should immediately warn ourselves of the dangers of staying up late, especially for our physical and spiritual health.
Ways to Avoid Staying Up Late
Try to go to bed on time, don’t let sleep be ruined by staying up late. Do not drink caffeine too often as caffeine can keep some people awake. Try to avoid consuming coffee at night. This advice is the most common advice found by someone to avoid staying up late.
As written above, several things related to staying up late can damage a people’s healthy lifestyle. The number of external factors and lack of understanding of the impact of staying up late, so that people, especially teenagers, still ignore the importance of healthy sleep patterns. Poor sleep patterns caused by staying up too late can affect daily activities such as lowering endurance, decreased productivity, lack of concentration, and emotional instability. Some of these things can be overcome by reducing night activities outside the home, reducing the use of gadgets at least 1 hour before bed, regular exercise 3-4 times a week for at least 30 minutes, and avoiding caffeinated drinks.
