VOKASI NEWS – Adinda Putri, former Miss Indonesia and TVRI became a part of lecturer in English Diploma studies at UNAIR. In order to maximize this course, English Diploma UNAIR hired a professional in public speaking as a lecturer, Adinda Putri. She was a former Miss Indonesia contestant and currently works as a presenter on TVRI (TV Republic of Indonesia).
As a former Miss Indonesia and her current job as a presenter, which requires her to always speak in front of people, she has wide experience in public speaking. Apart from that, she also runs a modeling school for kids and adults that has been operating for two years. Because she has teaching experience, she actually possesses the skills necessary to be a lecturer.
Upgrading Oneself by Sharing Experiences
Even though the income is minimal compared to her current profession, several of her Instagram followers questioned why she wanted to be a lecturer. She claimed every job had benefits. For instance, being a presenter makes you well-known, working as a reporter gives you the chance to meet with sources firsthand, and being a lecturer lets her realize how much her students value her.
“I think about value, not about money. How can we upgrade ourselves if we only think about money? If an idealistic person might be concerned about money.Myself think about what will continue to exist to upgrade myself, Adinda Putri,” she explained.
Since she regularly interacts with a large number of people in her role as a presenter and reporter. Meeting students with diverse personalities is not a huge concern for her. She aims to place emphasis on transforming students’ perspectives. So, they are more self-assured and courageous to perform in front of an audience. Because it will be simpler for them to find employment and be accepted by any firm if they have good public speaking abilities. Although becoming a lecturer is not on her life’s to-do list, she will continue to educate wherever she is, whether it be as a lecturer, modeling coach, or anywhere else.
“To be honest, becoming a lecturer is not on my life bucket list, so for now it’s just a side job besides being a presenter and reporter. But let’s see the bureaucracy in the future; to be clear, I won’t stop teaching wherever the place is.”
