On the weekend of November 2023, HIMA Occupational Safety and Health successfully held a Guest Lecture. The theme is “Implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) and Virtual Reality (VR) Based Technology to Support the Achievement of the Zero Accident and Occupational Disease Program”. This activity is an annual agenda that is highly anticipated by students from HIMA K3. This agenda to obtain an overview based on the experience gained from an K3 Expert. This time’s Guest Lecture activity invited K3 Expert Guest Speakers who aimed to deepen knowledge about work as K3 personnel. Which by implementing IoT and VR-based technology today. 2023 Guest Lecture presents dr. Eka Surya Septiawan, M.K.K and Mr. Ardi Dara Yuda, Amd. T as speaker.

First session Mr. dr. Eka Surya Septiawan, M.K.K

In the first session, Mr. dr. Eka Surya Septiawan, M.K.K had the opportunity to fill the event. The event fill with discussing material regarding the importance of digitalization knowledge. This based on his experience as a Hyperkes Doctor at PT. Saka Energi Indonesia. This technological development is considered to greatly facilltate work processes. Such as health program reporting, data storage, input systems, and periodic monitoring. Various challenges can also be overcome when you have deep skills in technology. “It is not the strongest that survives, but the most responsive to change,” said Dr. Eka from Charles Darwin’s quote.

Second session Mr. Ardi Dara Yuda, Amd. T

The second session was filled with presentation of material and experiences from Mr. Ardi Dara Yuda, Amd. T as a Hardware Specialist. He has explained that virtual reality is very useful in implementing K3. He has developed an application that supports fatigue level research and a virtual reality program. It can simulate how the fire extinguishing process occurs. With the development of this technology, it is felt to be very useful in supporting the achievement of zero accidents in the workplace.

Before the resource session ended, Mr. Ardi gave partisipan the opportunity. It can become respondents in his research and could try a VR simulation of using fire extinguishers and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Partisipan seemed enthusiast to try digitalization technological development. At the end of the event, this activity was also enlivened with a karaoke session and games which the partisipan liked. This was followed by a prize giving session for the winners who had actively contributed to a series of activities.
