VOKASI NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) reaffirmed its commitment to global academic engagement through its participation in the UPM–FUJIFILM Medical Physics Course Level 1 and Level 2, hosted by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on 27–28 March 2026. The programme brought together medical physicists, radiologists, radiographers, researchers, educators, and healthcare professionals from various countries to discuss the latest advancements and best practices in medical physics and diagnostic imaging.
Representing UNAIR, Prof. Dr. Anggraini Dwi Sensusiati, dr., Sp.Rad., Subsp. N-KL(K), a lecturer in the Master of Applied Science in Diagnostic Imaging, Faculty of Vocational Studies, participated as an invited international speaker. Her presence reflected the university’s growing contribution to healthcare innovation, academic excellence, and international collaboration while showcasing Indonesia’s achievements in diagnostic imaging and public health.
Advancing Rural Healthcare Through Diagnostic Imaging
In her presentation titled “Indonesia Rural Imaging and TB Screening,” Prof. Anggraini explained how diagnostic imaging has become an essential tool for improving healthcare access across Indonesia’s vast and geographically diverse regions. She highlighted the importance of expanding imaging services to underserved communities as part of national efforts to reduce healthcare disparities.
She also shared Indonesia’s experience in implementing imaging-based tuberculosis (TB) screening programmes, emphasizing the integration of multidisciplinary collaboration, technological innovation, and community-centred healthcare strategies to strengthen early disease detection and improve patient outcomes. Her presentation demonstrated how diagnostic radiology can support national public health priorities while enhancing preventive healthcare services.
Promoting International Knowledge Exchange
Prof. Anggraini’s session attracted considerable interest from participants representing universities, hospitals, and research institutions from different countries. The discussion highlighted growing international recognition of Indonesia’s approach to delivering equitable imaging services and integrating diagnostic technologies into nationwide public health programmes.
The interactive exchange also created opportunities to explore future collaborations in education, scientific research, and healthcare innovation. Participants shared perspectives on strengthening international partnerships to advance medical imaging practices and improve healthcare accessibility worldwide.

In addition to the invited lecture, the UPM–FUJIFILM Medical Physics Course featured a series of scientific sessions focusing on recent developments in medical imaging and radiological sciences. Topics included radiation dosimetry, radiation protection, digital radiography, image optimisation, artificial intelligence applications, and emerging technologies in both diagnostic and therapeutic radiology.
The programme served as an interdisciplinary platform that connected experts from academia, healthcare institutions, and industry. Through these discussions, participants gained valuable insights into current technological developments while identifying new opportunities for research collaboration and professional advancement.
