Universitas Airlangga Graduation in March 2022, UNAIR Rector: Be a Lifelong Learner

VOCATIONAL NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Graduation Ceremony for March 2022 period will be held on Saturday (5/3/2022). UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. H. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., inaugurated as many as 1679 graduates in the graduation procession for the March 2022 period. The graduates who graduated in March 2022 consist of graduates from diploma (D3-D4), undergraduate (S1), master (S2), and doctoral (S3) levels.

The implementation of this period’s graduation is quite different when compared to the previous period’s graduation. According to a letter from the Directorate of Education, Universitas Airlangga, with letter number 821/UN3.3/WA/2022 which contains changes in the implementation of graduation, Prof. Sukardiman conveyed the results of the coordination and the rector’s policy regarding the implementation of the 2022 period I graduation, which was originally scheduled for 2 days on 5 and 6 March 2022 to be changed to 1 day in 5 March 2022.

The graduation for the March 2022 period is carried out in a blended way. The online graduation ceremony was broadcast live through teleconferencing applications, namely zoom and live streaming on UNAIR’s YouTube. Meanwhile, the offline graduation ceremony was held in the Garuda Mukti Hall, Kampus C UNAIR and in their respective faculties. For the graduation period this time, only representatives of graduates, rector, vice rector, dean, vice dean, and leadership staff will participate. All attendees who come directly offline, of course, are required to follow very strict health protocols.

On a very proud occasion, Prof. Nasih opened a warm welcome by inviting the audience to remain grateful and take care of their health. In the midst of a high pandemic condition, Prof. Nasih continued, he also emphasized that he would continue to carry out very strict health protocols in every activity.

Furthermore, Prof. Nasih also said that to be able to arrive at the current graduation situation, it took a lot of struggles. Various kinds of sacrifices even with sweat that does not stop coming out. Everything has been completed with the best, and we are in graduation.

Prof. Nasih also added that even though you graduated with an unhappy situation where the pandemic continues to haunt you at this time, of course we are sure that all of you will be able, succeed, and make it through the next rung of the ladder of life. “We are certainly very optimistic, because you graduated from a reputable university, not only in Indonesia, but also in the world,” he said. Out of the hundreds of thousands of universities in the world, Universitas Airlangga is in a pretty good position, which is 465th in the world based on the QS World University Ranking.

Prof. Nasih congratulated the graduates and their families as well as the mandate not to stop learning and continue to serve the sacred for the homeland, nation, and the Republic of Indonesia. Be a person who continues to contribute to the good, because in fact, we are the best who provide benefits to humans.

At the end of the speech, Prof. Nasih gave a message to alumni to immediately maintain the good name of the alma mater. Being part of the alumni, he said, must continue to guard and maintain the honor of the alma mater, teachers, and knowledge that has been given to graduates.
